ITV

ITV is the UK’s largest commercial TV station, offering advertisers unparalleled volumes of audiences from all key demographics. Just to give you a taste, so far in 2014 ITV has shown:
The most watched programme on any channel
The most watched comedy, soap, new drama series, sport and entertainment programme.
We like to believe we are at the heart of popular culture and are the only commercial channel to regularly attract big, big audiences (up to 13 million viewers!). In the first half of 2014, the top 172 commercial programmes were on ITV. ITV accounts for 97.8% of commercial programmes attracting more than 5m viewers. From this research i can tell that it is the channel of most watched comedy which is relevant and appropraite to my brief and film as this is a relevant solution to broadcast on. As you can tell it can appeal to a large amount of customers as it can attract over 5 million viewers which is impressive and shows its popularity nationally and reigonally.
 

Another fact i found was that 69% of 16-34s reached to ITV2 which is paret of ITV, so therefore as it is still part of ITV, ITV2 would be the best option as majority of people who watch ITV2 fit my target audience. Here is more of my research that i found out. ITV2 is home to to some of the most diverse and innovative content around, featuring a mix of entertainment, movies, music, comedy and drama. However the channel has a strong presence online where viewers can catch up and also on social media networks with almost half a million followers on twitter. Another interesting fact is that it was digital channel of the year showing its presence and popularity amongst viewers.

Each week the channel reaches 40% of the TV viewing population, That’s 20.4m Adults and 6m 16-34 Adults. In 2013 the channel grew for the 11th year in a row in terms of share and saw some successful new programme launches.

  • Series 12 of The Only Way Is Essex is averaging 1.5 million viewers
